We loved our Happy Hour here

Last night we went to Reckless Noodle House on Sherman Street in Denver for Happy Hour. We saw it on Google Maps, looked at the photos, read their Happy Hour menu (all day on Mondays!), and decided to check it out. The photos seemed to show a cool vibe, and the menu was intriguing.

Now, this was the evening after the BIG game, so it wasn’t swamped. We were told it usually is on Mondays though. So, that meant we were given devoted attention by Audrey. She was just great. Happily, we asked her what was a “must-have”, and she suggested the “Caramelized Shrimp.”

When it came, the angels sang. It was sweet, slightly spicy, tender, juicy, and entirely irresistible.

We had many other delicious dishes – we enjoy a tapas-style eating experience – and this menu is perfect for that. We tried the Shanghai Spicy Wontons (both fried and steamed) and they were scrumptious. You’ve got to try the Thịt Nướng – Caramelized Pork Fresh Roll, and the Shrimp Chips were a great way to start. The only disappointment were the MaLa Spicy Peanuts. A small portion for the price. They’re listed as “MaLa”, but they had essentially no spice whatsoever. They could certainly use something more.

The salad though… Papaya Salad. O bliss! O delight! O more please!

Really, most everything was just … please more.

And then there were cocktails. More yummy … and crafted with care. We started with an Aviation, and finished with a Negroni. Both captivating, and at a super deal. Actually, everything on the Happy Hour menu is a wicked deal.

So, you should go. The one in Denver caught us, but the one in Seattle is probably just as good. After all, it’s Seattle!

Still, Denver is the best, and now we have this jewel.

Check it out!
